He spoke through a donkey and Jesus said He could make the rocks cry out in worship. God might use my "parenting failures" in some way but not sure I'm crazy about that! But really - did the whole plan have to include a scheming, manipulative mother?! To me that begs the question of whether Rebekah was doing God's will outright, or if God had to use plan B? He always says what He means, and means what He says. He said He hates sin; He's never changed His mind. He says He love us - and He does! Give thanks that He is always faithful! I find that in this passage of Matthew that Jesus is really saying 3 things: 1. Seek me with your heart - not because I'm the cool kid (vs.18-20) 2. Do it now - because it's the most important thing you'll ever do (vs. 21-22), and 3. I am who I say I am (vs.23-32). I find this very comforting; but to those who didn't/don't know him,it must be/been scary (vs.33) Yep. He always says what He means, and means what He says.
