Psalms 1-3; Acts 17:1-15
“On his law he meditates day and night.…”
J.I PACKER said the difference between knowing about God – and knowing God – was meditation. Thinking carefully about God’s words made King David the “Man after God’s own heart.”
Nothing has changed over time. The surest way to really know God is to meditate on the words of Scripture. And when you do – you experience what the Apostle Paul called “The renewing of your mind.”
JOB described the experience this way: “I have esteemed the words of your mouth more than my necessary food.” Job came to love God’s Word more than breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Want to really know God? It’s like falling in love. The more time you spend with God, the more time you want with Him. Give it a try. Read a while, then talk with God about it; or just let it sink in. But let me offer a word of caution: meditating on God’s words can be habit-forming.
See you Tomorrow!
