Isaac was more powerful than the Philestine King - he could have taken the land that God promised to Abraham. And yet, when the Philestines claimed the wells that Isaac's servants dug, he didn't fight - he moved on until there was "space" between them. And God continued to bless Isaac. If only I would remember that God fights for me - I don't need to do it!

Gentiles! I'm a Gentile! You probably are too. And Christ told the crowd that Gentiles would be eating at the table with Abraham! How cool is that? Paradise was meant for Abraham's descendents, not for us Gentiles. Yet through the Roman Captain's example of pure faith, Jesus tells me that I am welcome at the table too because of my faith! WOO-HOO!!!

That is another perspective on the quote that says that you don't get because you don't ask and you ask and don't get because when you ask you ask for things that will make you feel pleasurable and comfortable instead of asking for stronger relationship with Him. The crucifixion of the old nature needs to happen every day; all day long, and that doesn't happen unless we have His help.
