What a week! Daylight savings time, a full moon, Friday the 13th, and Coronavirus! Isn't it a joy to know that our God remains in control through all of our world's panic? In Paul's second letter to Timothy, he declares that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and self-control. The joy and assurance of God's power and love throughout any situation is what sets Christians apart from the world in situations like this!
This week the Yolo County Department of Health has made the recommendation that all mass gatherings be cancelled for the time being. They plan to reevaluate the situation around the end of the month. As members of this community, we feel it is important to respect the guidance of our government officials in alignment with Romans 13:1, "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God." As such, we will be cancelling in-person services effective immediately.
So what does that mean for you? You may or may not be aware that we currently livestream every Sunday morning via Facebook. Our Sunday services will continue, but will be held online only.
